Join me at the Colorado Railroad Museum, June 5 from 7-9 pm for “Rails and Cocktails”, a fun, adult event where I will be discussing the impact of traqueros, Mexican trainworkers, on my family and my most popular book, After Hours on Milagro Street. I am giving this speech in coordination with the museum’s current exhibit, Traqueros: Mexican Trackworkers and the American Railroad, on display until August 2026.
I will be discussing the two traqueros and their wives who took the incredible leap to bring their family to a new country, how my family established itself in southeast Kansas, and why I took on this topic in After Hours on Milago Street. I will be bringing books to sell and sign.
